Member Representative

Role:

To assist members with their financial transactions and performing a variety of routine member transactions.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, cash checks and loan payments; sells money orders and corporate checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed. Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
  • Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs members to appropriate department for specific information and service.
  • Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sell products/services to member; meets set goals.
  • Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input and answering the telephone.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

  • To provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members.
  • To balance drawer on a daily basis and maintain over/shorts to be less than $100 gross in a year.
  • To maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
  • To troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.
  • Examine checks for endorsement and negotiability.
  • Open communication with members and identify possible fraudulent or suspicious transactions; take appropriate action and file SAR referral as needed/deemed appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with all set policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Adhere to the Service Standards and Employee Expectations set forth by the credit union.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
  • Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.

Relationship Specialist

Role:

As a member of the Member Engagement team, the Relationship Specialist assists members and potential members with their membership account needs. Explains services, opens a variety of accounts and cross sells products and services.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Assists members with opening and closing all Credit Union deposit and loan accounts including, but not limited to, shares, checkings, money markets, certificates of deposit, IRAs and Consumer Loans Serves as a Membership Officer for the Credit Union; reviews and approves new account paperwork and documentation to ensure the Credit Union is in compliance and all file maintenance is accurate. Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross sells products and services to members.
    • Facilitates the Electronic Services and Cards Services programs. Electronic services includes responding to electronic services communications from members and serves as an Administrator for Digital Banking programs. Card Service includes debit card and credit card resolutions, processing card reports, and more. Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sell products and services to members.
    • Serves in a back-up capacity to take phone calls, answers deposit operations, loan and card services questions. Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sells products and services to members.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

    • Provide prompt, accurate, courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all members.
    • Process member transactions with minimal errors.
    • Develop, improve and maintain knowledge and skills in Member Engagement areas including all products and services.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.
    • Open new accounts for members including, but not limited to, shares, checking, money markets, certificates of deposit, IRAs and business accounts.
    • Discuss all products and services with members at account opening and identify additional products or services that may benefit the member.
    • Review and approve new account paperwork completed by other employees to verify accuracy; follow up on any errors and ensure they are resolved.
    • Review and close loans as needed that are initiated by other employees, verify accuracy; follow up on any errors and ensure they are resolved.
    • Support the Credit Union's IRA program; renew certificates and ensure all paperwork and file maintenance is accurate.
    • Support the Credit Union's CD program; renew certificates and ensure all paperwork and file maintenance is accurate..
    • Respond to member needs in regards to digital banking.
    • Support and demonstrate commitment to the Credit Union’s mission, vision and value statements; cultural charter and member experience expectations.

Knowledge and Skills:

    • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
    • A high school education or GED.
    • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
    • This position is designed for onsite work only. Remote work may be offered on a case-by-case and limited basis.

Financial Specialist

Role:

Role:

As a key member of the Financial Operations Team, the Financial Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial accounting records. This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual to support a range of accounting functions, reporting requirements, and compliance measures that contribute to the Credit Union’s financial health and operational efficiency.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • General Ledger Management. Reconcile, post to and balance general ledger accounts with attention to detail. Verify the accuracy, completeness and consistency of incoming accounting information.
    • Financial Reporting & Account Balancing. Prepare and balance various reports and accounts including, but not limited to, Accounts Payable, IRAs, Abandoned Property, Credit and Debit Card reports. Process adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy.
    • BSA Monitoring. Oversee day-to-day Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) monitoring, ensuring adherence to all compliance regulations including the filing of required reports.
    • Repossessions and Skip Claims. Manage repossession processes and skip claims to protect the Credit Union’s assets and minimize losses. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain clear communication with relevant parties.
    • Vendor Management. Oversee vendor management activities, such as updating contact information, monitoring contract renewals and working with Department Heads to complete necessary risk assessments and due diligence.
    • Financial Report Preparation. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, ensuring data accuracy and timey submission
    • Inventory Monitoring and Audits. Conduct regular inventory checks and audits across various areas, including cash vaults, teller drawers, debit cards, gift cards and more. Ensure proper controls are in place and verify all inventory is accurately accounted for.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

  • Prepare reports related to IRAs, Abandoned Property, Credit and Debit Cards.
  • Process Accounts Payable on a weekly basis, ensuring accurate and timeliness payment of bills.
  • Keep all assigned general ledger accounts current and in balance daily.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports as assigned on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Manage day-to-day BSA-related alerts; escalate Suspicious Activity as deemed appropriate.
  • Enter, approve, receive and post wires to member accounts.
  • Monitor inventory for several Credit Union processes including cash vaults, teller drawers, debit cards and gift cards. Organize and facilitate regular audits of these processes.
  • Complete file maintenance and monitor for proper processing of member account transactions.
  • Manage delinquent member accounts that progress to a repossession or skip claim status.
  • Process member charge-offs for deposits and loans, as approved.
  • Review daily work of Member Representatives; ensure accuracy and completeness of posting and GL's, troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Perform vendor management duties as assigned; update contact information and upload due diligence and contracts as instructed.
  • Support and demonstrate commitment to the Credit Union’s mission, vision and value statements; cultural charter and member experience expectations.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
  • This position is eligible for periodic work-from-home privileges.
