Member Representative
Role:
To assist members with their financial transactions and performing a variety of routine member transactions.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, cash checks and loan payments; sells money orders and corporate checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed. Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
- Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs members to appropriate department for specific information and service.
- Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sell products/services to member; meets set goals.
- Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input and answering the telephone.
- Other duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
- To provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members.
- To balance drawer on a daily basis and maintain over/shorts to be less than $100 gross in a year.
- To maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
- To troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.
- Examine checks for endorsement and negotiability.
- Open communication with members and identify possible fraudulent or suspicious transactions; take appropriate action and file SAR referral as needed/deemed appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with all set policies, procedures and regulations.
- Adhere to the Service Standards and Employee Expectations set forth by the credit union.
Knowledge and Skills:
- One year to three years of similar or related experience.
- A high school education or GED.
- Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
- Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.

Financial Service Representative
Role:
As a member of the Member Engagement team, the Financial Service Representative supports the financial well-being of members and potential members. This role builds strong relationships by assisting individuals with their membership and account needs, including opening accounts, explaining services, and identifying appropriate products and solutions. The Financial Service Representative also works one-on-one with individuals to provide financial education, help navigate financial challenges, and connect individuals with relevant Credit Union services and community resources that support their financial goals.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assists members with opening and closing all Credit Union deposit and loan accounts including, but not limited to, shares, checking, money markets, certificates of deposit, IRAs, and Consumer Loans. Serves as a Membership Officer for the Credit Union; reviews and approves new account paperwork and documentation to ensure the Credit Union is in compliance and all file maintenance is accurate. Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sell products and services to members.
- Assist individuals in navigating their lives through financial counseling and referral to community partners to access resources. Work with employees and partner businesses and other referred individuals one-on-one, as couples, in small groups or in classrooms.
- Facilitates the Electronic Services and Cards Services programs. Electronic services includes responding to electronic services communications from members and serves as an Administrator for Digital Banking programs. Card Service includes debit card and credit card resolutions, processing card reports, and more.
- Serves in a back-up capacity to take phone calls, answers deposit operations, loan and card services questions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
- Provide prompt, accurate, courteous, friendly, timely and professional service to all members.
- Process member transactions with minimal errors.
- Develop, improve and maintain knowledge and skills in Member Engagement areas including all products and services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.
- Open new accounts for members including, but not limited to, shares, checking, money markets, certificates of deposit, IRAs and business accounts.
- Discuss all products and services with members at account opening and identify additional products or services that may benefit the member.
- Review and approve new account paperwork completed by other employees to verify accuracy; follow up on any errors and ensure they are resolved.
- Review and close loans as needed that are initiated by other employees, verify accuracy; follow up on any errors and ensure they are resolved.
- Support the Credit Union's IRA program; renew certificates and ensure all paperwork and file maintenance is accurate.
- Support the Credit Union's CD program; renew certificates and ensure all paperwork and file maintenance is accurate.
- Obtain and maintain a CCUFC designation through America's Credit Unions.
- Provide financial literacy programs to members and the community. Maintain knowledge in financial literacy to provide individuals with sound financial education.
- Develop and maintain community relationships. Refer individuals to community partners to assist them with accessing community resources.
- Exhibit empathy with member's situations, while also motivating and moving clients to take positive action.
- Teach financial education programs to groups and individuals, including people new to the US financial systems.
- Support and demonstrate commitment to the Credit Union’s mission, vision and value statements; cultural charter and member experience expectations.
Knowledge and Skills:
- One year to three years of similar or related experience.
- Must be willing to present in group settings digital mediums.
- A high school education or GED.
- Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. The role requires a significant level of trust or diplomacy.
- Valid Driver's License required and must be willing to travel as needed. Flexibility is also required.
- This position is designed for onsite work only. Remote work may be offered on a case-by-case and limited basis.
