          Community Credit Union Savings Information

Saving money is very easy at Community Credit Union because of the many options that are available to you. In fact, you can have the funds deposited directly into the savings/share account or checking account of your choice. Then, we can set up automatic transfers to any account(s) of your choice. Our goal is to make saving and managing your money as easy as possible so that your money will grow.

NCUA

Each member account insured to $100,000 by the National Credit Union Administration, NCUA, an agency of the U.S. Government.

CERTIFICATE ACCOUNTS

Certificates and IRA's may have penalty imposed for early withdrawals.

Certificates allow you to earn a higher return on your deposits. Annual Percentage Yields indicated are for terms of 6 months through 5 years with a minimum opening balance of $1,000. Also, certificates for amounts of $500 or more but less than $1,000 are also available. Contact the credit union for details.

SPECIAL INVESTMENT ACCOUNTS

Special Investment Money Market. This account allows you to earn a higher annual percentage yield and requires $2,500 to open and maintain the account.

SHARE/SAVINGS ACCOUNTS

Share/savings accounts are the primary member accounts at credit unions. An opening balance of $25.00 will allow you to share in all of the benefits that membership has to offer

IRA's INDIVIDUAL RETIREMENT ACCOUNTS

At Community Credit Union, we have the desired and proven venues to help you plan your IRA investments for your more mature, golden years.

The Traditional IRA allows you to grow account earnings tax deferred until withdrawn. Your contributions may be tax deductible.*

The Education IRA allows you to invest up to $500 per year, per child. The accounts may be established by parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, as long as the amount per child does not surpass $500 per year. Also, withdrawals for qualified higher education expenses are TAX FREE.*

The Roth IRA is a way to accrue tax free income during retirement. The benefits of the ROTH are attractive, however, not everyone qualifies nor is it the best intended option for everyone. Non tax deductions are limited to a maximum of $2,000 for a wage earner filing single and $4,000 for married couples filing jointly.*

Variable Rate Traditional, Education and ROTH IRA's are also available.

* In all decisions of this type, it is recommended that you contact your personal financial advisor or tax accountant.
